Chicago, IL – A cold weather advisory is in effect from Sunday evening through Monday afternoon for Northern Illinois and Northwestern Indiana. Wind chills are expected to plunge to between 20 and 25 below zero.
According to the National Weather Service (NWS), the advisory begins at 6 p.m. Sunday and extends to 1 p.m. Monday. The affected areas include Cook, Lake, DuPage, and McHenry Counties in Illinois and Lake and Porter Counties in Indiana. Wind chills this low can cause frostbite on exposed skin within 30 minutes. …
