Chicago Police Department is raising an alarm for local businesses in the 16th District following a spree of commercial burglaries. An advisory posted on the Chicago Police Department’s official website outlines a series of break-ins perpetrated by a group of individuals operating in the area.

The string of crimes, all committed within the early hours of January 23, saw businesses having their tranquility forcibly shattered—windows and front glass doors smashed, cash registers plundered. This cluster of burglaries appears to be more than just a coincidence, with incidents reported on the 7000 block of W Higgins Ave, the 7200 block of N Harlem Ave, and the 5400 block of W Devon Ave. The offenders, aiming boldly to remain unseen and uncaught, were described as three to four males donned in masks, gloves, and dark clothing, utilizing a silver Kia Optima as their conveyance.
