Illinois doppler radar: Track snow falling across Chicago area; some accumulations possible

Illinois Doppler radar Friday morning showed snow falling across parts of Chicago as a winter storm in the southern part of the U.S. makes its way across parts of the Midwest, leading to crashes and spin-outs on slick and slippery roads, and a brief ground stop at O’Hare International Airport.

As of 9:40 a.m., the ground stop had been lifted, but the FAA warned that snow could lead to multiple delays at airports, including Chicago and Midway, with additional ground stops possible.

Early Friday morning, NBC 5 Meteorologist Alicia Roman reported flakes falling to the south and southeast, with light to moderate snow coming down in LaSalle, Ottawa and Kendall Counties, moving into Kankakee and parts of Southern Cook Counties…
