According to a press release on the City of Charlotte official website, these events were part of the “hundreds of calls” managed by the department on a daily basis. In the face of these remarkable challenges, Fire Chief Reginald Johnson commended the skill and determination of his team. “This week has tested us in ways that few others have,” Johnson stated, and he went on to assert the capability of his crew, from the 911 operators to the frontline firefighters, in bringing about “the best outcomes possible.”
