The Gaston County Sheriff’s Office will soon have an app that will allow people to put money in inmate canteen accounts and apply for weapons permits without going in person to the office.
The app, which will be available in Apple and Google Play stores under the name, “Gaston County Sheriff’s Office – North Carolina,” is intended to help people better communicate with the sheriff’s office, said Chief Deputy Scott Wyatt.
The app will serve a multitude of purposes, allowing people to apply for jobs at the sheriff’s office, find contact information for command staff, search for inmates at the Gaston County Detention Center, provide commissary money for inmates, apply for concealed weapons permits, and search for sex offenders in the area…
