Stepney’s credentials in overseeing water-related concerns are extensive, she was previously the deputy executive director of the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality (TCEQ), and also held the position of deputy director of the Office of Water, her role included handling water permitting, planning, availability, and the overall supply programs within the state, Stepney boasts a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering along with a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from UT Austin, showcasing her educational prowess in technical fields relevant to her new responsibilities.
