Round Rock parade will have heavy law enforcement presence following Juneteenth tragedy

ROUND ROCK, Texas (KXAN) — The City of Round Rock said there will be a “heavy law enforcement presence” at its annual Fourth of July parade and celebrations after a recent Juneteenth event ended in a tragic shooting that left two people dead and 14 injured .

The parade will kick off at 8:30 a.m., running up Mays Street through downtown and ending at U.S. 79. At noon, the festivities will continue with Frontiers Day at Old Settlers Park. Activities will happen throughout the day with fireworks starting at 8:30 p.m.

The city is expecting thousands of people to attend the celebrations and ensure safety is always top of mind when hosting these events for the community. Sara Bustilloz, a city spokesperson, said the parade route and Old Settlers Park will be lined with law enforcement and medical personnel ready to respond to any incidents…
