Water main break leaves customers in Montgomery Co. without water

KENSINGTON, Md. — A water main break in Kensington has disrupted traffic and temporarily left nearby residents without water. Crews from Washington Suburban Sanitary Commission (WSSC) are on-site, working on repairs at Knowles Avenue.

Road closures:

The break has caused extensive road closures along MD 547 (Knowles Avenue) in both directions at Beach Drive:

  • Westbound: All shoulders, right-turn lanes, and traffic lanes are closed.
  • Eastbound: All shoulders and traffic lanes are closed.

Drivers should avoid the area and seek alternate routes while the repairs are underway.

Water service disruptions:
