Knights claim early ‘big 2-A win’ vs. Burlington Christian

Boasting one of the nation’s premier point guards from the junior class and a plethora of scorers, the host Greenfield School varsity boys basketball team ruled Burlington Christian Academy, 75-58, in a clash of NCISAA 2-A heavyweights Friday night in the second session of the Hoop State Opening Weekend showcase in the Greenfield gym.

Pressing at the start, Knights junior guard Kobe Edwards, ranked as the No. 1 junior point guard in North Carolina and listed among the top 10 in the nation, settled down to turn in a performance of 17 points, 10 rebounds and six assists. His passes were sharp enough to merit him a triple-double.

Braxton Dubose, a 6-foot-3, 220-pound freshman, continued to come up big for the Knights with 15 points and six rebounds. Also scoring in double figures were Simon Quinn, Greenfield’s lone senior, with 12 points and junior Isaiah Thomas with 10. Junior Drew Lucas wound up with nine points as nine Knights scored…
