West Valley animal care facility land chosen

The Glendale City Council approved an agreement with Maricopa County to transfer a nearly 5-acre parcel at the southwest corner of Northern Avenue and the New River for a new West Valley Animal Care and Control facility.

The agreement, approved by the council Dec. 10, furthers the progress of two projects in the property’s vicinity, and establishes the location of the shelter, currently in its planning stage. The city sold the land for $2.1 million.
