Judge sets aside 2 days for preliminary exam for man accused of raping child and mother, killing neighbor

A judge has set aside two days for a preliminary exam for the case against a Pontiac man accused of killing his neighbor and raping the neighbor’s wife and young child.

Timothy Legard, 50, faces 11 felony charges including first-degree murder, multiple sex crimes, kidnapping and more for the Sept. 18 incident. Wiliam “Bill” Allison was fatally stabbed with a kitchen knife outside his home on East Ypsilanti Avenue in Pontiac that day — allegedly by Legard — and officials assert that Legard then entered the home and sexually assaulted Allison’s wife and 8-year-old daughter.

A preliminary exam is scheduled for Feb. 13 and 14 in 50th District Court, where Judge Jeremy Bowie will hear evidence and then decide if probable cause was established for the case to move forward for possible trial in Oakland County Circuit Court…
