A 19-year-old Imlay City man died Saturday after failing to resurface while swimming across a pond in the Hewitt’s Pit area of the Port Huron State Game Area.
Troopers responded to the report of a drowning about 6 p.m., Michigan State Police said in a social media post.
“Three friends were swimming across the pond when a 19 y/o Imlay City man began struggling and went under the water. His friends attempted to help and immediately called 911, but their efforts were unsuccessful,” the post states…
