GRPD: Man facing charge in attempted bank robbery

GRAND RAPIDS, Mich. (WOOD) — After an attempted bank robbery on Grand Rapids’ northeast side, a man is in custody and is facing a charge, police say.

Donald Brubaker, 41, is in jail on unrelated charges, according to the Grand Rapids Police Department. Police expect that he will be arraigned on the charge of bank robbery later Thursday.

Just before 10 a.m. Monday, someone tried to rob the Bloom Credit Union on Plainfield Avenue NE north of Leonard Street, police said. The would-be robber left without getting any money, according to GRPD.
