Colorado woman donates camper to man who lost home in Hurricane Helene

In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Linda Jamison of Colorado Springs drove over 25 hours to Swannanoa, North Carolina, to help support survivors.

She spent a week and a half in a camper she’d bought with her savings, cooking and serving meals for nearly 1,000 people affected by the hurricane. With no other options to get a hot meal, she says her services were in high demand and she was being called upon to feed over 100 people a day.

Jamison became known for her rice pudding and beanie weenies and adapted her cooking based on whatever ingredients she had available. Alongside volunteers, she also prepared meals for elderly and disabled individuals who couldn’t reach the food distribution locations.
