GRAND JUNCTION, Colo. ( KREX ) – Soon, a groundbreaking will be held to kick off the start of Phase 2 construction of the Monument Trail.
The Colorado West Land Trust (CWLT) and the City of Grand Junction are hosting the groundbreaking at 4:30 p.m., Tuesday, Oct. 22, at the Lunch Loop Trailhead at the Colorado National Monument. According to CWLT, the phase starts a big milestone in providing recreational access along Monument Road. This phase will extend the trail to South Camp Road.
“This project demonstrates our community’s commitment to creating safer and more accessible outdoor experiences,” CWLT Executive Director Rob Bleiberg said in the press release. “The Monument Trail allows people to enjoy the scenic beauty of the red rocks and the Lunch Loop area without depending on vehicular access. It’s a trail for everyone – people of all ages and abilities.”…
