DENVER ( KDVR ) — Amid a busy holiday weekend on Colorado roads, several inches of snow paired with freezing temperatures is making for wintry driving conditions in many areas across the state.
Roads are icy and snowy in many areas on Saturday morning. FOX31’s Rachel Saurer was in the Pinpoint Weather Beast with a look at roads around the Denver metro area where even the busiest roads were packed with snow.

CDOT’s online COtrip tool shows live road conditions and closures across the state. Saturday morning, the map shows icy and snow-packed winter driving conditions on roads across the Denver metro area and the entire state.

The Colorado Department of Transportation warns drivers that increased holiday and ski traffic is expected to cause delays , particularly on the Interstate 70 mountain corridor, throughout the weekend.

On top of that, roads are expected to stay icy and slick through the weekend with temperatures remaining below freezing until Wednesday.
Crews will be plowing and treating the roads, but CDOT said in a press release Thursday that “the extremely low temperatures will slow down the effectiveness of deicing products.”…
