One of the only African American-owned full-service restaurants in the city of Grand Rapids says it could be forced to close its doors as a result of a loan dispute with a nonprofit community lender.
Marquette-based Northern Initiatives is seeking $152,000 in unpaid loans from Forty Acres Soul Kitchen, located at 1059 Wealthy Street SE, and co-owners Darel Ross and Lewis Williams, who are both named in the civil lawsuit filed last week in the 17th Circuit Court in Kent County.
