BELLEVILLE, Ill.. (First Alert 4) – Sunday marks six months since Emily Strite was first reported missing by family in De Soto, Missouri. Last seen in that area on April 12, family had kept up search efforts for almost half a year.
On September 28, her remains were found in a wooded area near the 4100 block of Frissell Road.
“For me it was like ‘finally, she’s coming home,’ that felt huge, that she’s like not lost, not alone,” said Strite’s younger sister, Jessica. “Obviously, the state she was found in was horrifying but she gets to come home, she gets to be at peace and have some sort of peace.”…
