The Emergency Services Department of Rogue Community College (RCC) now has two new EMS program available to prospective students.
RCC Expands Emergency Services Courses
RCC’s Rusty Riis, Faculty Chair of their Emergency Services Department, indicated that around half of their students are adults returning to college. The new Emergency services courses offered by RCC are:
Advanced Emergency Care Certificate of Completion
For those with an associate’s degree or higher, Riis said this new four-term program is designed to be flexible, taking into account the student’s previous life experience and using what they learned in the past.
This means many classes can be skipped over, and students can dive straight into the core of paramedic education and emergency services, giving them a sense of control over their learning journey.
Emergency Services Associate of Applied Science Degree
A college-level degree is necessary to be a fully licensed paramedic in Oregon. The extensive RCC training starts with paramedic education and EMT certification, and helps refine a student’s passion It enables student to graduate in two years rather than taking additional courses.
