WSMC patients may access Women’s Health, Obstetrics, Gynecology, Midwifery, and Newborn Care at this new site. The over 4,000-sf building was originally purchased in 2019, partially funded through HRSA’s American Rescue Plan Act. WSMC identified the community’s needs for expanded Maternity/Women’s Health, but its established location on Old Tunnel Road could not accommodate the increased demand for services after the recent retirement of local OBGYNs. Due to COVID, the building remodel was put on hold until late 2022. Through a contractor bidding process, Streamline Construction, local to Grass Valley, was selected to remodel the building.
