Kansas City, MO – For the second straight year the University of the Cumberlands volleyball team have qualified for the NAIA National Tournament, NAIA officials announced Monday. The Patriots earned an At-Large berth for the first time in program history and will travel to Great Falls, MT to face Providence.
“This group has worked hard since our first practice and has battled all season to reach this point. We knew it was going to be a challenge to qualify without winning the conference tournament but we’re excited that the selection committe looked at all of our accomplishments this season and gave us an at-large berth,” said Head Coach Kathryn Park.
Cumberlands has put together an historic season, compiling a program-best record of 32-5, which is the most wins and best winning percentage in the program. UC opened the year with a program-best 19 match win streak and also rattled off ten wins in a row later in the year to help the Patriots secure the second-seed in the MSC Tournament. Cumberlands defeated Freed-Hardeman 3-0 before rallying to take down Campbellsville 3-2 and advance to the MSC finals for the second consecutive year…
