This is How to Adopt a Park in the City of Great Falls

If you were to ask me to name something great that I like about Great Falls, there are several answers that I could offer up to you.

  • Great people
  • Great schools
  • Great recreational opportunities
  • A great river running through it

Lots of answers. But one of my most favorite things about our city is the number of parks we have to take advantage of. Whether just a relaxing day on grass, playing basketball, skateboarding, or feeding ducks, Great Falls has a park for you.

Do You Know How Many Parks Great Falls Has in the City Limits?

In the city of Great Falls, the Parks and Recreation Department maintain 57 parks across the town. Some of those can even be reserved and rented for special events for family and friends.

The city also offers individuals, groups and businesses the opportunity to adopt a park within the city limits. As a adopt a park volunteer, you “can help maintain one of the 57 parks in GF or a section of River’s Edge Trail. Picking up litter, helping with spring spruce up, fall leaf raking and other special projects from the park supervisor.

Sign Up to Adopt a Park with the Great Falls Park and Recreation Department

For those that want to adopt a park, a one-year commitment is required. Certain circumstances are considered for school projects and more. The Park Department also asks that each group meet at least once per month to work 2 hours minimum per month.
