Nearly $1 Billion Sent to Modernize U.S. Airport Terminals in Colorado, Florida, Texas, Hawaii

On October 24, 2024, the Biden-Harris Administration announced $970 million in federal funding to improve U.S. airport terminals in 46 states, Guam, and Palau. This investment, provided through the Bipartisan Infrastructure Law, will support 125 airport projects, enhancing passenger facilities, accessibility, and sustainability while creating jobs and boosting local economies.

The funds are allocated to a variety of projects, including terminal expansions, baggage system upgrades, improved road access, and new air traffic control towers. Key projects include $40 million for Tampa International Airport’s new automated people mover, $15 million for Denver International Airport’s baggage handling upgrade, and $33.2 million to expand Austin-Bergstrom International Airport’s terminal.
