Commission approves $289K for EMS overdose outreach program

The Hawkins County Commission voted at its March 24 meeting to allocate $289,000 in opioid lawsuit settlement funds to launch a Hawkins County EMS overdose outreach program.

But commissioners said they also will be receptive to a proposal from Sessions Court Judge Todd Ross for a residential addiction recovery program as future opioid settlement funds are released to the county.
