NEWPORT, Tenn. (WVLT) – The first train since Helene devastated Cocke County has passed through Newport.
It comes after months of repairs from Norfolk Southern, which moved its first engine through town this week. Specifically, crews have been working on a trestle at Eastport in the city. It was washed away by flood waters last fall.
