BYBEE, Tenn. (WVLT) – Six months after Helene devastated parts of East Tennessee, some are still trying to figure out their next steps.
Maureen Obrist was with her parents in Bybee when the storm hit. They never thought the water could threaten their homes, or much less their lives.
When Obrist realized that the water presented a real danger, she tried to get herself and her parents, Mike and Jean, out to safety. They got in their cars and tried to drive out to a safer place, but water covered both cars, which killed Mike and Jean…
