ROGERSVILLE — Dobyns-Bennett’s Tegan Begley wreaked havoc from the mound and at the plate to lead the Tribe to a 10-1 win over Cherokee on Friday (March 21) at The Reservation.
Begley hit a three-run homer to cap off a five-run second inning for D-B and struck out all seven batters he faced to set the tone early in the nondistrict clash.
After a scoreless first, D-B picked up a pair of walks to lead off the second. A costly Cherokee error loaded the bases. Cherokee starter Gage Adkins struck out the next batter, but D-B’s Levi Chappell followed with a sacrifice fly to score Graham Jones.
