Mississippi confirms H5N1 in chickens. Know bird flu symptoms, keep your family healthy

Highly contagious H5N1 avian flu has been confirmed in a Mississippi chicken flock. Do you know the symptoms of bird flu?

The Mississippi Board of Animal Health issued a news release on Monday, Dec. 23, that said birds in a commercial breeder’s flock in Greene County tested positive. The animals have been quarantined by the state veterinarian, and the flock was depopulated to reduce the spread of the virus. Animals from the infected flock are not part of the food supply chain. According to MBAH, they are working on a response with federal animal health workers.
