ECU’s Riley looking to lead men’s hoops team to win over his former squad

GREENVILLE, N.C. (WNCT) — ECU’s men’s basketball team is set to host Temple Wednesday night, Jan. 8, 2025, and it will be a special night for one player.

Former Owl, now Pirate Jordan Riley hopes to lead his new team to victory over his old one. Riley has been a bright spot for the Pirates this season, averaging 14.5 points and more than six rebounds per game.

“At the highest level, if we flip the cameras right now onto practice and you watch Jordan Riley, he does the same things he does in games,” ECU Head Coach Michael Schwartz said. “You know, he’s not a guy that you have to call a bunch of plays for. He goes and gets it off his defense. He had five steals the other night. He goes and gets it off the offensive glass. He’s as good of a mid-range player, in my opinion that I’ve coached, and he just does it with a blue collar, hard hat, great mentality…
