As I took one last step at the top of the staircase, EMF meter in hand, I panicked. My foot missed the step, and with the hotel manager standing directly in front of me, I’ll admit that it would have been quite ironic if I found myself tumbling to the very bottom. Would it have killed me? I didn’t want to think about it for too long. It was the same staircase where the apparition of a Scotsman was seen multiple times by different guests over the years. I don’t know about you, but I’d want to remain in the land of the living.
