Cowpens, SC — Lynne Messer Motts, 72, of 138 Walker Drive, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, November 15, 2024 at her residence.
Born in Cowpens, she was the wife of Lawrence Bernell Motts and the daughter of the late Jack E. Messer and Geraldine Gardner Messer and the granddaughter of the late Helen A. Patrick (Jesse) and the late Reverend Oscar Gardner. She was a graduate of Cowpens High School and retired from Security Finance. She enjoyed gardening, shopping, traveling to the mountains and loved her family, especially her grandchildren. Mrs. Motts was a former member of Mt. Olive Baptist Church and attended Cannon’s Campground United Methodist Church.
In addition to her husband, also surviving is a son, Larry Floyd (Gina) of Spartanburg; two daughters, Ami Floyd Odom (Billy) of Cowpens and Marlena Adair (Noah) of Chesnee; a sister, Patty M. Simpson (Alan) of Cowpens; eight grandchildren, Kyle Brown (Brittany), Lucas Floyd, Morgan Odom, Brice Odom, Lola Adair, Lily Adair, Liam Adair and Austin Vause; and two great-grandchildren, Addison and Easton.
