Dorothy Smith Massengale, a beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully surrounded by her family on Tuesday, September 17, 2024.
Dorothy was born on June 1, 1931, in Senoia, GA, one of five children to the late Alsie Smith and Rosa Todd Smith. Along with her parents, Dorothy is preceded in death by her beloved husband of 62 years, Norman Lanier Massengale, Sr., and siblings, Hoyt Smith, Roger Smith, Carolyn Smith Cates, and Jenelle Smith Cowan.
Dorothy was always on the go, embracing every opportunity for adventure and connection. Her deep devotion to her family was evident in everything she did. She cherished every moment spent with her loved ones, creating lasting memories filled with laughter and joy. Dorothy’s faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her in all she pursued and inspiring those around her. In addition to her love for family, Dorothy had a passion for shopping.
