Rainfall is likely on Monday morning before mid-week sunshine

ALBANY, Ga. (WALB) – A low-pressure system out of the Gulf of Mexico is heading toward the southeast. This will increase moisture in South Georgia allowing for showers tonight into Monday morning. Temperatures during this time will be warmer in the upper 30s and low 40s. Highs for Monday will be in the upper 40s and low 50s. This rainfall will continue into the afternoon and evening on Monday but end by the start of Tuesday. We are picking up around half an inch of rainfall.

After rainfall exits the region, we are dry and cool as high pressure moves back in. Tuesday through Thursday will be partly cloudy with peaks of sunshine until a bright and sunny Thursday. High temperatures will be in the mid to upper 50s and cold, near-freezing lows in the 20s and 30s. Friday is cold in the morning with highs back in the 60s by the afternoon.

The next weekend features rainfall, but the exact timing still needs to be worked out. However, there are signs of colder weather heading into the next work week…
