OCEAN SPRINGS, Miss. (WLOX) – With the aftermath of Hurricane Helene in mind, more than 200 volunteers met outside Ocean Springs Lumber and Supply Company ready to fill almost 500 coolers to send off to Valdosta, Georgia.
While a cold beverage can seem simple, it brings normalcy back to a community struggling with everyday life.
Eight-year Comeback Cooler volunteer Holly Henderson says, “You will overcome. It doesn’t look like it today, it’s not going to look like it tomorrow. Eventually, the sun is going to shine again in your world. It’s not going to go back to normal because it’s going to be a new normal.”…
