South Texas ISD offers program to special needs students Valleywide

MERCEDES, Texas ( ValleyCentral ) — The South Texas Independent School District is offering high school students with special needs an opportunity to enhance their skills.

The district’s new Half-Day Program is an opportunity for special needs students across the Valley to enroll in career and technology courses at South Texas ISD.

“This gives them [students] an opportunity to come and partake in a current technology educational program that may not be offered in their district and to be exposed to an area of interest,” said Cynthia De La Garza Gonzalez, South Texas ISD Special Education Coordinator.
