It’s a new year and we’re already talking about store closures. It’s a rough time out there for businesses and 2024 showed that. We reported pretty regularly about the many businesses that were closing down.
It looks like 2025 is starting in that trend as well. The newest company to see closures around the country is GameStop. Originally, I saw a post from Game Rant talking about how GameStop was quietly closing down stores across the country without making any public knowledge about it. The reason it was getting out to the public was because of employees and customers.
This automatically had me wondering if Connecticut locations were going to be affected by this. After a quick Google search, I found out that we are indeed also getting store closures around the state. The Connecticut Scoop listed the stores around Connecticut that have been closed or are in the process of closing.

Are there more stores closing around the state? It’s a huge possibility. The public just isn’t sure since there are no official listings. On the GameStop store listings page, it shows a few more stores that have been closed off including Shelton, Orange, and Hamden…
