CHARLESTON COUNTY, S.C. (WCIV) — State Rep. Wendell Gilliard has pre-filed a bill requiring weapons detectors in all of South Carolina’s public schools. He’s been trying to get this legislation to the governor’s desk since 2018.
Even without a state mandate, school districts across the Lowcountry have already started using the added safety measure.
