Warm with storms returning tomorrow & Friday, with eyes in the Gulf: Southern MS/AL/LA Weather Forecast – 10/2/24

Still looking pretty good for today and part of tomorrow. It looks like the rain may hold off tomorrow until the afternoon and linger around through Friday night, this means a slight change to your Friday Night Football forecast – some folks may be dealing with rain and storms.

Until then, though, temperatures around 90 in the afternoon with a slight chance for rain today. Same goes for tomorrow. The “Experienced Temperature” will be up around 95F. No severe weather expected

I know everyone is trying to keep tabs on the forecast for that ‘thing’ down in the Caribbean, too. So far no news. And, honestly, no news is good news. The longer it bubbles around without forming, the better the chances are that the next cold front shows up in time to usher it eastward and away from us.

Typically speaking, once we get past about October 15th, it becomes tougher for us to get storms that slide north to the central Gulf Coast without something around to push it east. Before someone sends me a, “well, actually” message — yes, storms *can* still move northward, I’m not saying that there is nothing to worry about. But generally it gets more difficult for such things to happen.
