MIDDLETON, Mass. — Firefighters are adjusting their use of chainsaws, bulldozers, hoses and small, controlled burns in response to weather conditions as they work to contain a large Massachusetts wildfire.
A fire burning near Middleton Pond is now about 188 acres and estimated to be 70% contained as of Friday morning, according to Chief Douglas LeColst of the Middleton Fire Department. Crews are focusing Friday on the northern side of the fire area.
