TreasureFest, a “beloved tradition” that drew thousands of people from both sides of the bay to San Francisco’s Treasure Island on the last weekend of every month for its curation of vintage clothing, custom-made home decor, food trucks and live music, is no longer going on as planned.

Known as the Treasure Island Flea Market when it first kicked off over Memorial Day weekend in 2011, TreasureFest saw one of its busiest weekends ever when it returned to its original location in February of last year following a pandemic-related hiatus and a brief stint at the Marin Center in San Rafael in 2021. Demand was so high to get in that traffic backed up for at least a mile on the Bay Bridge, despite a new ferry line going to and from Treasure Island. It continued to move at a crawl as cars attempted to get around ongoing construction on a massive development project that’s expected to bring 8,000 new housing units to the low-lying artificial island by 2040…
