Oakland shooting: Brother, sister critically wounded on their way to swap meet

A brother and sister were shot and critically injured while sitting in a car on a residential street in East Oakland on Sunday morning, police said.

The shooting occurred around 5 a.m. on Garfield Avenue near 76th Street in the Eastmont neighborhood, the Oakland Police Department said in a statement. The victims, whose ages were not released, were sitting in a car with their father near their home —  on their way to the Coliseum Swap Meet to sell wares — when the shooter went up to their vehicle and fired, the police union said in a statement.
