TORONTO — The Golden State Warriors are honoring the contract Dennis Schröder signed with the Toronto Raptors.
Not that he expected a trade or two when he inked his deal in 2023.
“What’s good about the NBA, it don’t matter if you get traded five or six times. Or eight times. You still have the same contract,” Schröder said Sunday in the practice gym at Toronto’s Scotiabank Arena.
“It’s a privilege to play here and I’m always grateful no matter what team I’m on. I’m going to give it my all — all the time. Every single night. Every single game.”
Schröder played 51 games for the Raptors, who sent him to Brooklyn for 52 more before the Warriors acquired the 12th-year guard — and a second-round draft pick — for De’Anthony Melton and three second-round picks. In 13 games with Golden State, Schröder is averaging 9.9 points (33.1% shooting, 25% 3-point shooting) and 4.7 assists compared to 18.4 points (45.2% shooting, 38.7% 3-point shooting) and 6.6 assists this season with the Nets…
