Helena-area fishing report

Canyon Ferry: The walleye bite continues to produce great results out from the Silos, Confederate, Hellgate and between Ponds 1 and 2 in 15-25 feet of water while using jigs, bottom-bouncers with flashers or slow-death rigs or crankbaits. Perch and rainbows are also being caught on traditional walleye gear.

Rainbows are being caught on the north end along the east shore between Shannon and Hellgate, around Round-Top and out from the Silos while trolling cowbells, spoons or crankbaits. Shore anglers are catching a few rainbows around the Silos on worms or jigs. – Troy Humphrey
