Las Vegas locals are being offered a touch of holiday warmth and tradition, with a public menorah lighting ceremony all set to brighten up the Clark County Government Center this December 30. According to a Clark County news release, Commissioner Michael Naft is inviting the community to join in the Hanukkah festivities starting at 4:30 p.m. in the downtown rotunda at 500 S. Grand Central Parkway.
“With the holiday season underway, please join us as we light the menorah to celebrate Hanukkah, the Festival of Lights, in Clark County,” Naft said, as reported in the county’s news release. Rather than merely observing, residents can actively participate in the celebration and enjoy traditional holiday treats such as jelly donuts and latkes. The evening’s activities will culminate with the lighting of the menorah’s 6th candle, followed by a live performance from The Dancing Dreidels.
With an open invitation extended to all, the feeling of communal joy and celebration is expected to be palpable. Evidently taking pride in the inclusive nature of the event, Naft emphasized that “Everyone is welcome to enjoy the celebration,” as mentioned in the same news release. Those unable to make it in person can still capture the spirit of the occasion, as the event will be viewable online via the county’s social media platforms…
