RICHMOND, Va. (WWBT) – GRTC is expanding once again. 36 new stops have been added to 3 GRTC bus routes; 1, 1A, and 7. Route 1 is getting a 7 1/2 mile expansion to take riders anywhere between the Transfer Station in Downtown Richmond, and Ashland… including the Virginia Center Commons area.
“We’re really expanding the destinations you can explore and the places you can go… It’s convenient, it’s free, you don’t have to find parking,” said Henry Bendon, the spokesperson for GRTC.
You have more opportunities to ride the 1A route bus in the evenings now too. That bus runs from Downtown Richmond to Chesterfield County using Hull Street and Midlothian Turnpike. Routes 7A and 7B will now run every 15 minutes, Monday through Friday, back and forth from Church Hill and the Richmond International Airport…
