Ready-to-eat meat, poultry recalled over listeria risk; 11 infections, 1 death

A recall that was issued for ready-to-eat meat and poultry products sold in retailers nationwide and online has claimed at least one life, to the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention said Friday.

Yu Shang Food, Inc recalled more than 4,500 pounds of ready-to-eat meat and poultry products due to the produce being linked to a potential listeria contamination. According to a recall posted by the U.S. Department of Agriculture’s Food Safety and Inspection Service, the problem was originally discovered on Oct. 21.
