Felon Sentenced to 20 Years for Attempted Shooting and Confrontation with Tow Truck Driver

Olivier Ricardy Alexandre , 28, was sentenced to 240 months (20 years) in prison by U.S. District Court Judge David S. Leibowitz on January 3, 2025, following his guilty plea to charges of possession of a firearm and ammunition by a convicted felon. Alexandre, who previously pled guilty to a two-count indictment, was sentenced to an upward variance of 105 months, with the court citing his violent actions and criminal history.

The charges stemmed from two incidents in 2023. On March 13, Alexandre confronted a victim entering his home in Miami-Dade County and fired at least 18 rounds at him without reloading. This shooting was linked to multiple prior shootings, including one in October 2022 involving the same victim. Investigators discovered shell casings from the March incident matched those found at the previous shootings.

Less than two weeks later, on March 21, Alexandre confronted a tow truck driver who was repossessing a vehicle outside his home in Plantation. Armed with a handgun and an extended drum magazine, Alexandre threatened the driver before being arrested by authorities…
