Miami’s ‘Tight End U’ reputation still holds weight with top recruits

ORLANDO — The Hurricanes have earned a reputation as “Tight End U.” UM has sent 20 tight ends to the NFL draft since 1980, including stars like Jeremy Shockey, Jimmy Graham, David Njoku and Kellen Winslow II. Miami is poised to have another tight end picked this year, as Elijah Arroyo is projected to be selected.

Even though some of those tight ends played at Miami before current high school recruits were born, the reputation lives on.

“There’s a reason that they always have a good tight end,” four-star 2026 tight end Brock Harris said. “They just get great tight ends. I think they produce them, and that’s big.”…
