Hundreds of coin banks fill glass display cabinets and built-in shelves in every room of a historic mill house in the Sherrills Ford community of Catawba County.
Those banks belong to 75-year-old Joyce O’Neal. She has amassed a collection of 889 coin banks, also known as piggy banks, over the last 50 years.
