NC pastor resigns after guilty plea in federal investigation

GREENSBORO, N.C. (WGHP) — A Greensboro pastor has stepped down after a guilty plea in federal court.

Matthew Queen was the senior pastor of the Friendly Avenue Baptist Church in Greensboro before resigning on Nov. 8, according to a statement from the church.

“While this has been a challenging season, we continue to trust in God’s sovereignty and remain focused on our mission. As we move forward, we encourage our congregation and the wider community to stay focused on Jesus, the author and perfecter of our faith,” the church said in their statement…
